  • msmichel's rating of the film Our Nationhood

Solid documentary by Obomsawin that this time examines the 1998 barrier blockage by the Mi-gmaq to facilitate discussions with the Quebec government about land ownership and logging rights. More interesting is the films wrap around stories about the 1981 salmon fishing ban and subsequent invasion and the bands' legal reversal and establishment of their own fishing fleet 20 years later. Another peak of the mountain.
