Ratings & Reviews

  1. mubianer's rating of the film Pandora's Box

The famous Adam Curtis style loved and parodied isn't fully formed. Traditional documentary methods like talking heads are still present here. Curtis is always an eye-opener, but sometimes he gets a little too nerdy and trapped in his own world.

  2. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Pandora's Box

Big, big fan of Mr. Curtis. Watched him first on Charlie Brooker's Screeenwipe with his analysis of Non-Linear War. Quite chilling. This is a six part documentary that was also quite illuminating on the political effects on the development of science. All of this done with an enviable visual flair.

  3. WY's rating of the film Pandora's Box

From each instalment, there are dots to connect: a USSR planned economy, the Delicate Balance of Terror, Goodhart's Law, DDT, a Ghanaian dam, an atom. And there revealed a constellation that we still fail to concede: the course of technology isn't driven by technologies, but by agenda.

  4. Jesse Furgurson's rating of the film Pandora's Box

    Foundations of the Curtis-structure.
