Our take

When Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress) died in 2010 we lost a Japanese animator on par with Hayao Miyazaki but who had only made 6 films. His last feature is emblematic of his genius: a mind-melding, reality bending exploration of the storytelling possibilities of animated films.
