Ratings & Reviews

  1. dionysus67's rating of the film Paulina

Highly dubious in its political message about rape and (female) autonomy over the body, this well-acted and atmospheric drama leaves a lot to be desired mainly because it fails to give adequate portrayal of other characters, including the rapist. Cinematically it captures only in moments Paulina's mental landscape (a brief carnival scence) and despite its honest intentions it ends up in a muddled finale.

  2. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film Paulina

  3. Alex Flores's rating of the film Paulina

I wouldn't say this is a film from a feminist point of view but rather a humanist one. The character is superb.

  4. Atzin Ortiz González's rating of the film Paulina

Mitre continues his venture into the political with an update of an Argentine classic. A clash of moral dilemmas without easy answers. The formality of its two long takes between daughter and father's conversation of their politics is superb (3.5)

  5. Bonnet Michel's rating of the film Paulina

  6. superjano's rating of the film Paulina

  7. Mario Tomchev's rating of the film Paulina

it's not for anyone to understand, all characters and spectators just have to see her stand and be (great ending shot in this sense), and I can appreciate that

  8. Magda Magdy's rating of the film Paulina

I can't fathom why she would let her rapist get away with it and I can't fathom why she would decide to keep the baby! I get that she doesn't want to play the victim in a patriarchal system. But if it were me I would have at least killed the bastard with my own bare hands.

  9. Alden's rating of the film Paulina

A film paved with good intentions in which I felt something was pushing me out every time. On the celebrated father-daughter opening dialogue, a great Oscar Martínez ends up saying "ok, you convinced me" and my problem was that I couldn't get Fonzi to convince me of anything in the whole film. The director never taking sides is a good thing, but it gloats over it and I couldn't find much more to this thing.

  11. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Paulina

  12. Lucas Granero's rating of the film Paulina
