Pushing the capabilities and potential of the virtual reality (VR) technology this short film so artfully employs, Pearl is a lovely anecdote about two ways through which we can measure time - songs and car-trips we desperately want to be over but yet will never forget.
Millennial delusions that life is a videogamemusicvideo and a nostalgia trip through (superficially recycled) styles. Delusions of grandeur on top of that. Even less forgivable if it was made by a Gen X parent than if it was a Millennial kid of a Gen-Xer. Some nice color and light though.
