Ratings & Reviews

  1. kartina obskura's rating of the film Peyton Place

it's one damn good final sentence

  2. Aardsy's rating of the film Peyton Place

  3. SpacePirate's rating of the film Peyton Place

Great melodrama, which in the hands of someone more adept with the genre like Sirk, couldve been an all out classic. What it is though, is just a really solid film. The director doesnt seem very interested in the story, so the actors have to carry the film, & Turner and co. do great jobs. Widescreen shouldve made for more inventive camera angles & staging, but its filmed like a Leave It To Beaver ep. Still, 4 stars

  4. João R's rating of the film Peyton Place

Very generic at times but it doesn't mean it wasn't often enjoyable.

  5. Tavarna Caris Garvey's rating of the film Peyton Place

  6. eugenie de sade's rating of the film Peyton Place

this is THE quintessential 1950s melodrama and i'd be thrilled to watch 100 more movies just like it

  7. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film Peyton Place

  8. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film Peyton Place

    ★★★ little town secrets.

  9. ZYNAB's rating of the film Peyton Place

takes a while to start and the colors are kind of drab, but when it does get going it's camp gold...directed by mark robson of valley of the dolls fame, peyton place is certainly as outrageous as dolls, in a weird small town kind of way...

  10. Joseph Jones's rating of the film Peyton Place

The essential small town melodrama, it may not be as biting as Grace Metalious' classic 1956 novel, but it's still a solid, moving soap opera, with strong direction and an ace cast.

  11. MarcH's rating of the film Peyton Place

Bland and generic. Don't hold your breath for a widescreen presentation to improve upon things...Robson treats Cinemascope as an afterthought...a TV movie filmed in a rectangle. Oh what Douglas Sirk could have done with this material.
