Babis Makridis Greece, 2018

Dada Kubin's rating of the film Pity

You do wonder, how long can the the Greek weird wave format with its laconic, almost expressionless acting and tragic comicness be applied before we just get bored, but obviously we’re not there yet. In Pity it’s the thematic clarity that carries the film; the protagonist’s need to be felt sorry for, his inability to have any emotions beyond those of sorrow. This lack of emotions, both in content and in form.
