  2. Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film Poem of the Sea

Dozhenko's widow Solntseva went about filming his unrealized projects after his death, and this extremely odd film is one: typical speeches concerning the Bright Future are startlingly coupled with poetic flights of fantasy (the pasts and imaginary worlds of the characters - with animation!). There are a dozen things going on at once, it's impossible to keep track of the characters. A mess, but rather mesmerizing.
