Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film Porridge

A rather dour filmic version of a popular BBC sit-com that retains the cast and pathos of the series with some nicely observed performances. Films of this kind often seemed to be filmed in bleak Winter landscapes and this is no exception, providing grimly truthful if hardly escapist entertainment for the local audience. A single story arc is a bonus when so many spin-offs were recycled vignettes from the original.
