As all Edgar Allan Poe movies directed by Roger Corman it is a stylish Gothic movie with good atmosphere and a solid interesting story. Hazel Court has a darker quality over her which make her one of the better female actresses in the genre. Ray Milland is not bad either, but he is no Vincent Price who treats this stuff with a twinkle in his eye as he goes a step too serious for this camp movie.
L'histoire d'un médecin londonien au 19eme siècle qui, ayant de fréquentes crises de catalepsie, vit dans la crainte morbide d'être enterré vivant. Encore une solide adaptation de Poe !

"Just because Corman is incapable, which he is, of making a Bergman film, it's unfortunate that that didn't happen."

i totally like the spooky scenery. the movie wasn't that thrilling, but the ending was & also very surprising - she hadn't any reason for doing that, had she?!
