Ratings & Reviews

  1. Mtume Gant's rating of the film Prevenge

3.5 I thought it lost gas as it went on but Lowe is fantastic in this. Just missed a kind of next gear to really bring the movie home.

  2. pluviosity's rating of the film Prevenge

when you have absolutely no control over your mind or body anymore..

  3. José Neves's rating of the film Prevenge

iPad. Looked for the laughs and only found a tasteless joke.

  4. msmichel's rating of the film Prevenge

Alice Lowe wrote and directed the film as a vehicle for herself and shot the film in her 7th month of pregnancy. Playing a pregnant woman driven to murder by the words of her unborn baby and a deep set grief spurring on revenge, Lowe certainly crafted a timely role. Unfortunately the premise fails to maintain its initial mix of interest and dread and collapses under its own conceit long before its silly conclusion.

  6. wiwitaek's rating of the film Prevenge

.5 "What did I just watched?" in negative way.

  7. Billy Casper's World's rating of the film Prevenge

A funny twisted dark horror comedy. Although it heavily draws inspiration from Baby Blood, it as the zany feel of Sightseers mixed with the likes of Rosemary's Baby and American Psycho. It's an enjoyable murder feast, where the killer isn't as vulnerable as she appears, drawn on by the voice of her unborn child and an insatiable appetite for revenge.

  8. moniquekidman's rating of the film Prevenge

A sometimes-humorous semi-slasher/revenge film that doesn't really do anything unexpected with its interesting premise. The main problem here is that Lowe's character feels like it was written by a man, with its rather basic and one-note depiction of what is supposed to be a "strong woman." Nothing special.

  9. Dada Kubin's rating of the film Prevenge

A foetus on a killing spree: obviously Prevenge is a comedy but the killings aren’t very comical because of the laconic & realistic way their shown. It’s both comic and repulsive at the same time; determined to give you mixed feelings. The script isn’t very special but I was happy to see many intriguing characters (getting killed). Especially the comic and repulsive DJ who was an apt caricature of the ever young male.

  10. Balthaz21's rating of the film Prevenge

  11. Carlos Filipe Freitas's rating of the film Prevenge

Simultaneously entertaining and zany, “Prevenge” is already a massive success near younger audiences. However, it lacks the superior pitch-black tones and emotional strength of “Sightseers”, feeling somewhat puerile in its approach.

  12. Dries's rating of the film Prevenge

L'incipit era tanta roba. Poi è iniziato il film

  13. Raluca Popescu's rating of the film Prevenge

  14. oldeuboi's rating of the film Prevenge

Hysterically funny. Utterly scary. Deeply disturbing. But it also a sad yet moving story about motherhood. And revenge of course. Delightful directing debut from Alice Lowe.

  15. João R's rating of the film Prevenge

Its intimate nature is really captivating and the obscure humour is a nice touch in an already very used revenge's formula. However, it doesn't have the strength to cover up the fact that the story lacks more depth and it's not the driven fuel of the movie it ought to be.

  16. Alex's rating of the film Prevenge

  17. smndvdcl's rating of the film Prevenge

Those familiar with 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace' and 'Sightseers' will be familiar with Lowe's brand of macabre satirical deadpan British lower-middle class social realism humour. Her directorial debut is an extension of this; the best kind of acquired taste.

  18. film_lies101's rating of the film Prevenge

I was a bit surprised by how sad and deeply affecting it turned out to be. Looking forward to more by Alice Lowe

  19. ant's rating of the film Prevenge

KillBill from a pregnant woman. Great soundtrack by Toydrum.

  20. Alcock Hitchfred's rating of the film Prevenge

A hilarious, well crafted movie. Alice Lowe is Wonder Woman.
