  • flip trotsky's rating of the film Prison Break

Interesting film, despite its flaws - the social commentary is unoriginal, the dialogue uses far too many maritime clichés, and the tone of the film swings jarringly between spritely romantic comedy and gloomy proto-noir. But the visuals alone tell so much of the story it almost feels like a silent era pic, and there's some impressively poetic imagery. Lubin never impressed me as a director before, but he did here.
