Ratings & Reviews

  1. Matt Reddick's rating of the film Private Property

Wow. Great tempo and mood... I really wasn't sure how this was going to turn out. Along with Irving Lerner, it seems Leslie Stevens was part of the bridge to the New American cinema of the late 60s.

  2. Brotherdeacon's rating of the film Private Property

3 and a half howling hormones. A low-budge accomplishment of no small merit. This odd fugue of a psycho buddy-film passes between multiple threats including slow burn sexual predators, switchblades, spousal apathy, class difference and method acting left over from Rebel Without a Cause. It's a pleasant non-Corman indie surprise.

  5. FISCHER's rating of the film Private Property

  6. Aardsy's rating of the film Private Property

This is why we can't have nice things.

  7. petit astronaute's rating of the film Private Property

    (3.5 | 2K) 'perfect double-bill' with The Visitors (1972, Elia Kazan).

  8. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film Private Property

  9. Jason's rating of the film Private Property

One of them nominally long-lost movies. Would appear to be my kind of thing. You know, a mite salacious. Tapping into some good ol' All American sleaze. However, it's a bit elevated. It's somewhere between an exploitation movie and an art film. Warren Oates is my favourite actor from anywhere, ever. Corey Allen is great. And future-suicide Kate Manx hits a vein of pathos that actually makes the movie heartbreaking.

  10. bencor's rating of the film Private Property

This makes the perfect Warren Oates double bill with Two-Lane Blacktop.
