Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film Quatermass and the Pit

An excellent expansion of Kneale's earlier BBC serial with a splendid sense of place and the best of a generally satisfying trilogy (this is certainly the better cast of the lot). There's a solid certainty to the pseudo-science and, later, demonic-rising which frighteningly rounds off the relative seriousness of the endeavour.

Can't this be retitled Quatermass and the Pit? That's what the film is known as outside N.America.

  11. Roscoe's rating of the film Quatermass and the Pit

Marvelous science fiction horror film, solidly brought to the screen with a remarkably straight face. Admirable in every way -- it deserves to be better known.
