Talk about a bad day in the woods! This movie started out pretty pedestrian but when the shit hits the fan the craziness is off the charts. Sure, the plot is very contrived but I enjoyed seeing everything go south for the characters involved. The absurd blend between humour and gory violence is handled well.
I watched it right after Big Bad Wolves. The two movies share several narrative, iconographic, and stylistic features, deadpan humor, absurd phone conversations, mcguffins, truly despicable characters, inept, vicious and corrupt cops, fairy tale themes and loci, atypical pace (were typical = Hollywood). Keshales, Papushado are obviously very talented, but they need a breakthrough act.
