I had low expectations going in, having not loved the first film, but this was a very pleasant surprise. Taking on internet culture with a level of wit, it slowly reveals itself to be an insane, poignant look at loss, insecurity and growing apart, which comes close to Pixar. Absolutely adored the two Disney princess scenes, a great example of self-critique and genuine, unadulterated joy.
This was a very emotional film for me. The internet can be a terribly cruel place. I am happy for Sarah Silverman to have found new life as a cartoon character, since she isn't at all amusing anymore as a real person. Gal Gadot rocks as "Shank", the gang leader in a GTA-style hellish video game but I mustn't say much more as I don't want to spoil it for you. Stay through the credits to see all the scenes.
Aku suka cara kreator mewujudkan visi dunia internet beserta referensi budaya pop nya dengan dosis kelucuan yang maksimal! Hampir semua momen komedik dieksekusi dengan (amat) mulus. Cuman entah menuju akhir hingga momen menjelang konklusi state nya menurun untk kemudian agak naik lagi hingga masih menyisakan momen emosional untuk dikenang. Tambahan sedikit sindiran misoginis untuk kisah Disney Princess~
"Ralph Breaks the Internet" is an impressively entertaining sequel to one of the decade's best animated films. It doubles down on clever, referential humor and awe-inspiring visual worlds, and ties it all together with a mature theme about letting friends evolve into their own person — not who you want them to be. Expect a "Ready Player One"-esque sensory overload, but one with more meaningful subtext.
