This was really relatable at some points. I was in love with Vickie's character a little bit more than with Lelaina, to be honest. The film started off perfectly but it was only saved by the end by my inability not to emphatize with characters and my failed attempt to not love cheesy. I wish I got to know what happened to Sammy and Vickie - the film just deviated from the premise.
' There's no point to any of this. It's all just a... a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know... a Quarter-Pounder with cheese, those are good, the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moment where your laughter become a cackle... '
Wonderful, inspired premise. But an hour in, the sad realisation that the script is killing itself hits you like a dart in the chest. Oh why is it that every single interesting story has to have a romantic storyline? Still witty and angsty as it should be, it is a good effort (the first 60 minutes, anyway).
