A sensitive film, and smart for taking a straightforward approach that allows the human complexities to emerge and build, but the soundtrack almost completely erased each empathic step forward for me. A deeper composer would have said "No" to the project and argued for the images and words and voices as the only soundtrack necessary.
I wish I loved it as much as the Sundance programmers and IMDBEN. I simply wasn't so taken by the "characters" unfortunately. There is SO MUCH potential for an amazing 9/11 doc, so I'm more disappointed than critical. I watched a compilation of news reports from when the South Tower fell after this finished, and that was more powerful, meaningful and poetic for me. My viewing experience was hampered by expectations.
