Borowczyk and Lenica dispensed with original artwork altogether, relying solely upon montage and camera movement to transform the work of a Sunday-painter into a rather grotesque love story in Nagrodzone uczucia (Requited Sentiments, 1958).

Reunites film with its origins in painting (and film's own underlying reality as still images). This got me to realize how little "moving pictures" diverge from static images, really. Using static source material this short has 75%? of the movement and space of most shots in cinema, even today. Other than kung fu fights, of course, lol.
