What are people saying?

  • Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film Resurrection

Story's nearly incoherent, like they filmed the first draft of a screenplay for a silent film, hacked large sections out of it once filming was done, then added a few dialogue scenes. Characterizations are paper-thin: lovelorn guy, good girl, bad girl. And the flow is twitchy: elegant long tracking shots then Soviet-style montage, into which are tossed Bunuelian dream sequences. Absolutely bonkers, but fascinating.
