Ratings & Reviews

  1. James Mackin's rating of the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls

We need more Canadian movies like this. Any country that has a main population of descendants of colonial settlers, and an aboriginal population, needs more movies like this.

  2. dominique s.'s rating of the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls

  3. Zach Closs's rating of the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls

Unapologetically brutal and vengeful, "Ghouls" oozes style, boasts a terrific modern soundtrack and deftly slams genres together to create a wrenching and riveting historical coming-of-age surrealist revenge thriller. One of a kind.

  4. correy baldwin's rating of the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls

A relevant film from a much-needed Indigenous perspective. Unabashedly a revenge story at a time when the public discussion is all about reconciliation. Awfully violent - some of it gimmicky.

  5. msmichel's rating of the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls

FNC '13 Barnaby leaves quite a calling card for himself with this genre defying film tackling a sordid time in Canadian history; the forced Kingdom schools and the Indian Act. By mixing the elements of history lesson, heist film, ghost story, grossout comedy and coming of age story the film transcends the trapping of any particular genre and makes quite a statement on a situation that should not be forgotten.
