Ratings & Reviews

  1. cin·aes·the·tic's rating of the film Rio Corgo

This film subtly lulls the viewer into the universe of 'the Spaniard', who is a character out of place and out of time, but also the universal old man who relates more to spirits (ghosts?) than to the living. His young apprentice is also out of place, but primarily because of her youth. This film is like the nostalgic Portuguese music known as 'fado': languid, beautiful, and sedative in effect; an acquired taste.

  5. David R Williams's rating of the film Rio Corgo

The best cinema takes us places we have never been. Shows us images we have never seen. And presents us with realities we have never experienced. This film does all of that and more. Beautiful.

  6. Fox Moldy's rating of the film Rio Corgo

  7. fearraigh's rating of the film Rio Corgo

It occasionally collapses under the weight of its own torpor but the film's languid beauty endures long after the credits have rolled. Marvellous landscapes of Tras-os-Montes and Silva, the film's central character, exerts a dogged hold on the viewer. Kosa and da Costa are a pair of directors to watch.

  8. captainfez's rating of the film Rio Corgo

A magical realist film about an old guy doing his chores is still a fucking film about an old guy doing his chores.

  9. Daunay's rating of the film Rio Corgo

  10. Matthew Nash's rating of the film Rio Corgo

  11. Patrick Braganti's rating of the film Rio Corgo

  12. fada19's rating of the film Rio Corgo

  13. MATTEO BITTANTI's rating of the film Rio Corgo

Now you see him, now you don't.

    Zero entertainment value whatsoever

  15. Frank ViSo's rating of the film Rio Corgo

  16. Ludovic72's rating of the film Rio Corgo
