  1. bartkl's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

What appears to be a story of the existential struggle of a youngster who discovers meaning thanks to love at first, turns to an unexpected, dark, more serious tone when it adds the political perspective of power, greed and war to the mix. But ultimately, the film transcends this story of the finite altogether, making you remember that you, friend or foe, are a human being in the grand cosmos. Marvelous film.

  2. Tibulle85's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

  4. patricia suncircle's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

I loved this movie when I saw it years ago at the UC Cinema in Berkeley. I have looked for it since and been unable to find it. After all of Lhadatt's misadventures and spiritual searching, the final scenes of him in space draws into a stunning close.

  5. Schnagelkott's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

What a gem! It's strange it isn't more widely known. Not enough ninjas and gun-play for the general crowd? Oh, and don't read the synopsis above as it gives away the whole plot!

  6. Reginald Healer Marcellin's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

There's great detail in the animation (the final flight fight sequence was amazing), but the heavy handed message about the decay of civilization, the need for god, etc were so oversimplified that it lost all its impact

  7. Zachary Curl's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

i still don't understand why this isn't more widely appreciated, in Anime circles or film circles alike. the animation is spot on, and it's story is really something that stands out among a sea of animated movies with largely the same plot. the soundtrack brings it to another level entirely, and for the amount of work obviously put into the film, it's a shame that it doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves.

  8. Kwame's rating of the film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise

    Sakamoto's soundtrack is amazing.
