The "Sabotage" music video could be easily the best thing Spike Jonze has ever directed, along with Kaufman's Being John Malkovich, of course. The frenetic pacing of every shot of this parody along with the Beastie Boys dressed as moustached cops is never enough for me.
Spike Jonze is the god of the music video and this video is the reason I think so. "Sabotage" is pure energy. The canted angles. The quick cuts. The fast zooms. The gritty portrayal of an urban landscape. The exaggerated police bravado. All combine to form the style of a 1970s cop TV show opening credits. A pure interpretation of the actual music, a characteristic modern-day music videos lack.
