  1. dionysus67's rating of the film Salto

Allegorically arhetypal film of the Polish school about the war's diverse and deep traumas, told with a claustrophobic mood beyond dream and reality. The disjunction of Kowalski/Malinowski (a superb Cybulksi) operates as a bacchic rise of collective consciousness that culminates in a masterful jazz dance-trance sequence, before the 'dual' personality is expelled from 'Paradise'. A brilliant film in every respect!

  2. michal k's rating of the film Salto

another prime example why (the best and) the most avant-garde cinema of the 60's was made in eastern europe.
