Ratings & Reviews

  1. msmichel's rating of the film Savage Dog

There are many who love these eighties' style straight-to-video low budget action flicks and there is certainly still a big market internationally for them...alas there are also many of us who expect a lot more. OK of its kind with enough bare knuckle boxing to keep some fight fans entertained.

  2. HKFanatic's rating of the film Savage Dog

"Dog" stands out amongst its Direct-to-Video peers thanks to a unique pre-Vietnam War Indochina setting and cinematic look. Director Jesse V. Johnson ultimately abandons his more artistic aspirations halfway through in favor of chunky gore and blood-letting, but at least he secured what constitutes an all-star cast for a low-budget martial arts vehicle: Scott Adkins, Keith David, Marko Zaror, and Cung Le? 3. Eastern Film Fans's rating of the film Savage Dog

There's something that sets this film apart from others, not just an impressive cast which we'll take about in a moment, but its setting. Set in Indochina 1959 it feels like Jesse is trying to get a truly original period to set an action story in and it really works well. our review here
