Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

Une oeuvre sombre et atypique, inclassable et bizarre... www.cinefiches.com

  2. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

Embarrassingly bad attempt at emulating Pinter. The actresses are given free range to indulge themselves in sense-memory histrionics. Can't quite figure out why Mitchum agreed to appear. What was up with that beard?

  3. Samuel T.'s rating of the film Secret Ceremony

Elizabeth Taylor. Mia Farrow. Robert Mitchum. Confirmed.

  4. The Cinema Doll's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

Dark, atmospheric and the right kind of weird Secret Ceremony boasts wonderful performances by the cast and takes viewers into n eerie world that looks familiar but exists somewhere else.

  5. João Eça's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

The truth, Losey, is that you need Pinter to hold your back.

  6. José Neves's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

    cinematography by Gerry Fisher.

  7. T. J. Harman's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

  8. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Secret Ceremony

That's the kind of film I like! Intriguing but still understandable, not so evident though because you have to be intellectually active during the projection, searching for references, hidden analogies or symbols the director spread throughout the film. Masterpiece.

  9. Martin Sichetti's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

  10. Matt Burgess's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

Along with Robert Altman's '3 Women', one of the most bizarre and dream-like films released by a major studio. Very beautiful, eerie and strange. Mia Farrow's best performance.

  11. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film Secret Ceremony

A superbly strange psychodrama from director Joseph Losey. Excellent performances - particularly from a beguiling Mia Farrow and Robert Mitchum at his sardonic best - and an eerie, absorbing atmosphere of restrained intensity. One of Losey's very best, and a true classic that deserves to be better known.

  12. Joseph Judge's rating of the film Secret Ceremony
