A gorgeous film - the best way I can think to describe it is as a visual poem. Every gesture, movement, and moment is captured so sensually and poetically, whether it is of a hand or an apple. The light is beautiful, the girl Is beautiful, the words and silence equally so. This short has a quiet power to it, and is absolutely mesmerising. A hidden gem.
Simple images full of a presence in & qua absence: the shots that avoid the face, the offscreen space indicated through shadows-absent light-,the emptied staircase that glows with light: all objective correlates of the state of Love (or God or Cinema). A contemplative cinema where fullness of meaning is most giving of itself to the mind in its loss or hiddenness.
