The most strangely interesting film I've seen in years. A visually rich and mesmerizing experience that unravels like a depraved, art-house Tennessee Williams. While Tully's direction is impeccable, he manages to deliver a very moving performance that holds up to the power of the rest of the cast. Slow, sweaty, sad, deranged, and beautiful.
the characters feel like they're cat fishing me. in the beginning they seem interesting but as the movie progresses they feel like they loose all flavor. this is a shame since the setting is so encapsulating. the film focuses too much on its foreshadowing that when the events actually happen they feel anticlimactic.
