Ratings & Reviews

  1. Desjarlais's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl

I probably would have absolutely loved this movie if it weren’t so drug out for no apparent reason.

  2. bryanvmh's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl

So ahead of its time yet of its time that it makes the idea of time irrelevant. Tony Curtis plays Sex, Natalie Wood plays the Single Girl, Henry Fonda plays the fool, Lauren Bacall the fool's wife, and all of them play up their repressed libidos on the verge of explosion, or worse, exposure. Fast-paced and car-chased, clearly a kind of model for Bogdanovich's What's Up Doc?

  3. Eric Eidelstein's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl

Such an irritating movie, which is too bad because Natalie Wood and Lauren Bacall have such great comedic timing. God, there’s this scene where Wood is crying on the phone to her mother about being in love with a married man, and it almost makes up for the mediocrity.

  4. Diderot's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl

At times, it transcends its semi-reactionary sexual politics by being gloriously absurd and rejecting psychology altogether. It's one of the very best romantic comedies.

  5. Aardsy's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl

Goofy and terrible. Probably intentionally so.

  6. Elvis Is King's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl

Not even Miss Wood's crazy hotness could keep me watching.

  7. Arisa's rating of the film Sex and the Single Girl
