Our take

Featuring mostly nonactors, Ami Livne’s stirring debut is faithfully attuned to the daily rituals of the Bedouins who lead nomadic lives on the vast Negev desert. Alluding to an evil wind, the title refers to not only arduous weather conditions but also threats of displacement from Israeli forces.
