Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of TerrorDirected byJohn Rawlins
The third film in the Rathbone/Bruce series was the first for Universal and they recast the time period to contemporary and used the film as propaganda for the war effort. Unfortunately the plotting is quite weaker here and was a poor reboot to a series that would get much better.
Les auteurs ont pris une certaine licence vis-à-vis de l'oeuvre de Conan Doyle, puisque l'action est transposée pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale; reste un film bien ficelé, dans la plus pure tradition du genre ....
The third Sherlock Holmes movie with Basil Rathbone in the title role was reset to take time during modern times (aka. WW2) and the sleuth takes on Nazis and have a propaganda speech about the evil of Hitler at the end. The crime story itself is okay but the film still feel like a propaganda reel to make American audiences know about the danger that was growing in Europe - and this film doesn't work good on it's own.
