A tearful, painful, yet inspiring film for our generation. Anyone who writes it off as just a kids’ movie is making a big mistake. It’s an amazing film that a family can watch, laugh and cry at, and cherish together.
This classic movie as well as the cartoon series means a lot to me in my life. Can easily put this as one of my all-time favorite movies, if not my favorite. Good god I cannot praise this movie enough. Simply a masterpiece.
Westerners know Shin Chan in a vast more edgier and dirtier sense than the original series thanks to the good folks at Funanimation. Here we get to see that Shin Chan is more on the level of the Simpsons, than South Park. The toilet humor and sex jokes are still intact though much more tame. There is a joy to the animation and writing that makes the film plenty worthwhile though a little forgettable.
