A silly yet fun thriller that piles on gleeful plot contrivance upon gleeful plot contrivance. Does not make a lick of sense, but in the moment entertains. Poitier and Berenger make a good team and work well together. Clancy Brown and Kirstie Alley do good work as well. The entire supporting cast is much more accomplished than this movie probably deserves. Still fun to watch some old pros slum it and get paid.
They sure don´t make them like this anymore! A real old school cop thriller with moderate chills and thrills to keep your interest piqued. Both Poitier and Berenger are good and have decent chemistry but sadly both Alley and Brown are stuck with shallow characters that goes through the motions. Spottiswoode's direction is workmanlike and solid but lacks flair and real conviction. Ripe for a remake?
