Ratings & Reviews

  1. Polyglot's rating of the film Shy People

The greatest Golan-Globus film they Ever produced.

  2. Samuel T.'s rating of the film Shy People

I couldn't help but think DELIVERANCE; city folk invading the nether regions, the wilderness, the OTHER, for a nice time, some casual research. But this is less suspense and more morale, maybe. We see both sides of the pond here (it's silly sometimes, this is CINEMA). Timeless tho: f'ing Martha Plimpton sporting hair, Tshirts, and sweater w/ Walkman, which is basically eternal fire. This caught my heart by surprise.

  3. Henri de Corinth's rating of the film Shy People

Two very different women, two very different parts of a country.

  4. Owen Sound's rating of the film Shy People

Jill Clayburgh, Barbara Hershey and Martha Plimpton. A trifecta of criminally underrated actresses.

  5. Matt Mazur's rating of the film Shy People

Barbara Hershey holds this one together with a complete immersion into character. Her impressive run from 1980 through 1991 should be discussed much more in the bigger conversation of truly great actresses from this period.
