A young novelist, Sidney Hall, writes a generation-defining book that makes him world-famous. This sets him on a downward spiral that destroys him, as he is depicted from the ages of eighteen, twenty-four and thirty.

One of the very best films I saw at Sundance 2017. Sidney Hall is a triumphant feat of filmmaking, writing, and performance that bind together for a wholly unique and deeply moving experience. Logan Lerman is sensational - portraying Hall at 3 different ages: 18, 24, and 30. Although he is 24, he is most convincing at 30. The film IS Sidney Hall - structurally and visually. A perfect example of form matching content.
