Colonel Saab is a doctor in a psychiatric hospital in India. His particular interest is in treating patients with a acute mania, which he describes is caused by the male child’s longing for the unconditional love he gets from his mother.

With the exception of one scene, I thought this was a nice critique of the social mores that require women to subjugate their own needs in order to serve the needs of men. Waheeda also gives a very poetic performance as Radha; there was a simmering frustration to her character that I found compelling.
