All inclusive: saloon fist-fight, shoot-outs, incident over a stolen horse, a stampede, a house burned down, a jail break, a corrupt sheriff working with a greedy cattle baron, the climactic gun duel between the villain, heroes parting ways at the end to ride off in the sunset. Entertaining, visually splendid, well choreographed, But: it still lacks the dramatic edge to hold one's interest for over two hours.
Silverado comes from a master writer and entertainer and yet fails to be both. Kasdan's convoluted and uneven narrative is, however, anchored by a few standout performances, especially Kevin Kline and Brian Dennehy, that elevate this movie experience considerably.
This film is an absolute blast! It has an amazing cast and the four main leads have great chemistry. This is Kevin Costner's best role by far. The dialogue is surprisingly witty! You can tell that this was written by the guy who wrote The Empire Strikes Back. Jeff Goldblum has a small role in the film too if you need any other reason to see it. I can not recommend Silverado (1985) enough!
