2 1/2 stars actually. The first Sin City had, let's say, a certain charm to it, with it's incredible visuals, over the top violence and great noir look. A Dame to Kill For looks great but all the stories don't meld together as well as they did in the first film and by the end it just becomes a mish-mosh of one violent death after another.
I will give this film three stars because the actual Dame to Kill For story in the film was on point with the electric Eva Green and the badass Josh Brolin trading blows. Other than that the rest of the film was kind of unnecessary. After waiting so long for this sequel I was left kind of disappointed.
A parte Evona.
A good addition to the series. However I think it's been too long since the first and quite a bit of momentum has been lost. All of the actors are ten years older and the too-quick editing almost tries to make up for that; the film starts off too abrupt and I almost begin to lose interest. Eva Green is a saving grace. I'm impressed that they can still make it work since most of the actors are replaced.
A Dame To Kill For boasts less stories and worse pacing than the original, but introduces great new stories executed just about as well. Once again, there's a whole lot of badassery on display and I appreciated that it tied into the first film as much as it did.
