Pathologically morbid and at the same time life-affirming, this ranks with "The Wire" for depth of characterization, enveloping story, and all around magisterial writing. Don't waste your life...

one of my all time favourite shows. also partially (but definitely not entirely) due to the fact it had some of the best queer representation on tv for its time. i can never recommend this under appreciated tv gem enough
