One of the first short films from Mr. Lynch! The concept is fascinating. I still need to sit through it again to fully capture the emotions that are evoked from this film or what I'm getting from it. One of the first signs of a truly fascinating filmmaker.
One of Lynch's most evocative early shorts, a sign of his skill as a painter and how he must have been drawn to cinema so that he could make those paintings move. A doodle, perhaps, but a beautifully morbid and singular one.
Interesting more for historical value, as it was David Lynch's first foray into film, the cost of which, according to Wikipedia, nearly led him to give up filmmaking all together... A repetitive, abstract collage set to the sound of an air horn... That's pretty much it...
lynch doesn't give two shits and he's such an artist i love him and this is hella cool i mean
Incredible. If you are in the Philly area check it out at PAFA while it's still on display!
It sucks you in with simple but nightmarish visuals and a haunting atmosphere.
It would've been so cool to see this on the sculptured screen. Plus in the '60s in an art school!
Thank goodness it wasn't six minutes long.
