Once derided for its laddism, geezerism, and too-cool-for-school attitude, this is in fact a highly enjoyable comedy of errors, with a triumverate of excellent baddies. The sins of the Brit-crime flick shouldn't be placed on this film, and Statham shows why he should do more put - upon roles. Pitt, Ford and Grahame also stand out.
I used to have a DivX CD with this film and for a time, this was the only film I had in my computer. I think I was about 13 years old and I watched it about 9-10 times for no reason at all. It's kind of fun to watch it over and over when you learn the entire plot inside-out.
A significant step-up from the swag of Ritchie's 'Lock Stock'. Brad Pitt as a whimsical, Irish bare-knuckle boxing gypsy is a treat. Jason Statham's sardonic interplay is another highlight within a reputed ensemble. A sharp, post-modern and disturbing gangster comedy indeed.
