Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Somewhere in the Night

  2. Stu Witmer's rating of the film Somewhere in the Night

Crackerjack dialog ("Oh, we're having repartee are we?") and nice character turns in this otherwise B-Movie.

  3. Ingrid Bergman's rating of the film Somewhere in the Night

An intriguing if familiar premise of a man returning home from war with amnesia, trying to piece his life together. John Hodiak does well as that man and Mankiewicz successfully maintains a tense atmosphere throughout the film.

  4. Dave's rating of the film Somewhere in the Night

The best use of the amnesiac plot device that I am aware of. The film has a "The Best Years of Our Lives" feel to it, but with darker noir storyline. Mankiewicz would go on to make far better films, but this is an often overlooked noir that really captures an outlook and feeling of the immediate post-war era.
