A traveling trader provides a window into rural life in the Republic of Georgia, where potatoes are currency and ambition is crushed by poverty.
If it weren't for the increasingly interesting and gut-wrenching individuals the trader comes across in his journey, this would have been rather pointless, despite its nicely bleak cinematography.
A nice little look into the potato-based market economy in remote villages of Georgia, showcasing some of the aspects of isolated life where money means less than barter trade.
Somehow I feel I have been among them.
What an almost surreal and bleak dystopia.
