Simple and funny yet wise and insightful.

  3. JCPJD's rating of the film Spanglish

I love this film. I have no idea why it's not considered a modern classic. This is one of the most charming, truthful and funny love stories I have ever come across. All the performances are outstanding - especially Tea Leoni and Cloris Leachman. The style is high - but don't let that distract you from the way that each character behaves completely truthfully right the way to the end.

  10. grapetiser's rating of the film Spanglish

I gave it two stars. One star for the delicious sandwich and another star for the even more delicious Paz Vega. The story is forgettable, boring and unsatisfying.

  11. bleadof's rating of the film Spanglish

Spanglish is a decent romantic comedy. It has its evident flaws like the Deborah character who really doesn't feel real, but there's some good writing there and couple of insights of life. Both the hispanic mother "Flor", Paz Vega and the father "John", Adam Sandler, give a reasonably believable performance. I laughed and even shed a tear during some of scenes but also wailed at some of the mediocrity.
