Quite rough around the edges, but still an intriguing debut feature. The visuals succeed in creating a surreal and mysterious mood that persists throughout, and although it's not exactly fast-paced or action-packed the characters and the world are enough to carry it through without it getting boring.
A post-apocalyptic environment. A man walking among forgotten symbols. Remains of civilization stand still, as if they were unwilling to dissappear. They are falling apart, but the decline gives them a new dimension of beauty. It's a little bit too quirky at times, but it's also one of the few films that can make me cry in its first 5 minutes.
