Oh how tired i was after the first unbearable 90 minutes ! I understand it is a mass product but this constant will to sell it by pleasing everyone gives me a headache. But then came this interesting shot-countershot between him and her, a simple cinematic idea. In a film full of effects and shot in front of a green screen, this detail saved it all. The script ? Looks like the minimum they could do at this point.
So many things going wrong in one movie... 2 stars just because of some well done scenes and the look, but... god... this was awful. Rose and finn pointless subplot, a subplot that could be avoided with "hey poe i got a plan stop beign a dick!", Rey background story was dissapointing, i get the point of everyone can be force sensitive but cmon... j.j. did force awakens for nothing? and Luke? WTF? I'm dissapointed.
a total crowd,no, FAN-pleasing sequel, and a very plot-driven one. Hate the stupid jokes & messy editing; if they just cut Rey's island-moping, they probably could cut one hour of the total time. But,I have to admit it's more fun than the 7th,I almost dislocated my jaws lots of time--sure I got sugar-high, but at some moments, the pace was great. Too bad the new characters were still shadowed by Luke & Leia epicness.
I was never a huge Star Wars fan to begin with but the new Disney films must be made for people who enjoy eating the same thing for breakfast/lunch/dinner every day. the ham sandwich of studio blockbusters... even the "surprises" are not surprising. personally only enjoying Driver's Kylo Ren.
A solid film. Although it continues with the "lets plagiarize as much as we can from the originals and call it 'a tribute'" formula, it finally brings some real arc for the central characters and, more important, carries a certain sense of mythology that goes beyond the mere confrontation of two already seen antagonists. Skywalker's story line, tho, is absurdly pitiful and rushed. Disney needs to slow the fu*k down.
"Il n'y a vraiment rien de bien". Incontestablement pire que le précédent qui nous conduisait pourtant dans abîmes. Ici, tout est abîmés, jusqu'au personnages qui semblent répéter, films après films, les mêmes situations et les mêmes scènes en les rendant plus vides à chaque répétition.
Maybe it's that my expectations were in the negatives, but I really liked this one. It just made me give a shit, which J.J. Abrams couldn't seem to do. And it's like, this is Star Wars. What's the point of playing it safe? This just went completely bonkers and felt a bit queer, even campy. <3 <3 <3 Please don't leave us Rian.
