Ratings & Reviews

  1. Sean Patrick Stevens's rating of the film Stephanie Daley

The subject matter was handled non-exploitatively and I appreciated how the film juxtaposed the two women's lives.

  2. Richmond Hill's rating of the film Stephanie Daley

Attempting to spin too many plates results in distraction and lack of focus. Is it social issue-based? An interrogatory? Something about marital ambiguity? The fragility of life? Too many undeveloped strands with the parallel stories serving only to reference each other with heavy metaphor. The lengthy flashback provides as much necessary information as we knew in the first five minutes. Finely played nevertheless.

  3. ramosbarajas's rating of the film Stephanie Daley

The story itself is very strong. One feels a lot for the two main characters. I felt that however, it did not explore the story completely. At times the delving is rather shallow. That said most of the performances are good. Swinton, as always is perfect.

  4. Eleanor Abernathy's rating of the film Stephanie Daley

this is a (imo) a hard movie to watch, specifically the flashbacks...sometimes i think real life is more difficult to swallow when compared to the ridiculousness of horror/slasher cinema.
