McGowan just took time for what was really important to tell the story, appealing to our feelings in a natural way, and addressing it with objectivity, sensibility, and simplicity. Review and Rating: http://alwayswatchgoodmovies.blogspot.com/2013/09/still-mine-2012.html
Still Mine. McGowan after the mistake 'Score' returns to the heartstring cinema he excels at previously seen with "Saint Ralph" and "One Week". The warm interplay between Cromwell and Bujold richly elevates this tale that touches on tradition, marriage, ageism and bureaucracy. If "One Week" illustrated Canadian wanderlust and space this one does the same for Government bureaucracy and red tape. Warm, rich treacle.
