Ratings & Reviews

  1. elenagallen's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

Interesting premise, top setting and cast. Who turned this into an overplayed boring turd?

  2. Diego Carrera's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

It reminded me of the most inspired and sophisticated Hammer horror movies, with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley elegantly replacing the partnership between Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

  3. Mar J's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

  4. Nathan Silva's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

Nice build up. Terrible third act. Predictable twist.

  5. Sean Patrick Stevens's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

Hackneyed but some great performances occur in spite of it , especially by Ben Kingsley!

  7. ΞRIC B∆D TASTΞ's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

"We're all mad Dr. Newgate. Some are simply not mad enough to admit." i totally love asylum movies & this was quite brilliant.

  8. yasdnil's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

Much like Session 9, Stonehearst Asylum seems to have everything going right: decent cast, killer setting, intriguing plot. Yet with both, I couldn't help but turn it off halfway. Stonehearst Asylum is the film equivalent of a beautifully wrapped gift box containing a pair of itchy wool socks. Sturgess was a babe, though.

  9. Mathias Palmberg's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Director Brad Andersson burst onto the scene with the excellent Session 9 and followed up with another masterclass in suspense with The Machinist. Nowadays he churns out mildly interesting movies that are servicable but ultimately quite unoriginal and boring. This was no different despite a good cast and great settings. Ok timewaster if nothing else is on.

  10. Violins By Night's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum

It's mostly bollocks, but it knows it is... which makes some of it greatly entertaining.

  11. hubertguillaud's rating of the film Stonehearst Asylum
